Release Jersey delivers safe, structured, 100% non-contact boxing programmes across schools, holiday clubs, workplaces and children's classes in Jersey — building focus, fitness, confidence and self-regulation. It's never about fighting or competition; always about control, progress and a sense of achievement you can see.
We use non-contact boxing as a structured vehicle to develop physical literacy, focus, self-regulation, confidence and resilience — in children and adults, with and without additional needs. Every session is built on technique, footwork, pad work and conditioning; never sparring or contact. Participants think they are learning to box. What they are really building is the focus, regulation and confidence that carry into the classroom, the workplace and home.
Boxing is one of the most disciplined sports there is. Stripped of contact, what remains is exactly what schools and individuals want to build: focus, coordination, structure and self-control. Every session gives immediate, visible progress — a cleaner combination, a sharper movement, a longer round completed. That sense of mastery is what builds confidence and keeps even reluctant participants engaged.
Controlled breathing, pacing and emotional management under effort.
Following sequences, listening, and sustained attention.
Coordination, balance, fitness and movement confidence.
Setting a goal, working at it, and achieving it.
It’s a fair question — and the answer is the opposite of what people expect. Our sessions are 100% non-contact; participants never strike one another. Boxing is, at its core, a sport of control: the discipline to stop, to listen, to channel energy precisely. Settings consistently find it reduces dysregulated behaviour by giving a structured, respectful outlet and a clear set of standards to meet. Respect, control and self-discipline are the first things we teach, and the last things we compromise on.
Structured intervention programmes currently delivered across 10 Jersey schools, alongside after-school boxing clubs and the GB Boxing Awards programme.
CYPES-registered boxing holiday clubs for children aged 7–13, delivered throughout the school year at South Hill Boxing Gym.
On-site wellbeing sessions designed to support employee health, focus, and morale with minimal disruption to the working day.
Term-time non-contact boxing classes for children, building confidence, fitness, focus and coordination in a supportive environment.
Physical activity is one of the most reliable levers for wellbeing, behaviour and attainment — and non-contact boxing is emerging as a particularly effective vehicle for the people who are hardest to reach.

School leaders tell us the same thing across primary and secondary settings: a familiar group of pupils sits at the centre of several pressures at once — disengagement from PE, anxiety and low confidence, difficulty self-regulating, and additional needs that mainstream PE can’t always meet. The common thread is that these pupils respond to structure, clear progression and a sense of achievement. Non-contact boxing delivers all three — and they want to turn up for it. Our programmes run during the school day and sit alongside your existing pastoral, wellbeing and inclusion frameworks. No disruption. Just meaningful, measurable support.
Curriculum-aligned, whole-class, non-contact boxing fitness — a fresh PE option that engages the pupils traditional sport leaves behind. Mapped to the Jersey PE curriculum, so it supports your statutory delivery rather than sitting outside it.
Whole classes, Year 4 and above · all abilities · 60 minutes · half-termly or termly blocks · 100% non-contact
Targeted small-group sessions for pupils who need more than mainstream PE can offer — built around emotional regulation, confidence, focus and wellbeing. Just as much for the quiet, anxious or withdrawn child as for the pupil whose needs show up as behaviour.
Groups of up to 4 · typically Year 4+ · 6–12 week blocks · 45–60 minutes weekly · includes GB Boxing Awards
Every intervention block includes the nationally recognised GB Boxing Awards — a certificate and medal pupils work towards and earn. For children who are rarely formally awarded anything, that recognition is a genuine confidence anchor: tangible proof of progress they can take home, and something staff can celebrate.
Beyond timetabled PE and intervention groups, Release Jersey can bookend the school day — and combine everything into one weekly visit from one familiar coach.
An active, energising start that wakes pupils up, settles and regulates them, and sends them into class ready to learn. Supports attendance — pupils want to come in for it. Typically 30–45 minutes.
A structured, active use of the lunch break — channelling energy positively and easing the unstructured period when low-level incidents tend to spike. Typically 30–45 minutes.
A chance to try something new, build healthy routines and develop positive peer relationships, delivered on your partnership day.
Combine a breakfast or lunchtime club with a full day of PE and intervention sessions, and Release Jersey is embedded in your school from before the first bell to the afternoon — one familiar coach, one visit, reaching pupils right across year groups and needs. We partner with a maximum of five schools each year, one per weekday, so every school owns its day. Partnerships can begin with a single term, or start with a taster day before you commit.
